Health Canada created CHN, the Canadian Health Network (www.canadian-health-network.ca) to be a source of trustworthy health information that Canadians could trust. There were advantages to CHN being seen as independent from Health Canada’s own web site. For instance, they could attract learning institutions, nonprofit groups, special interest organizations and private sector companies who may not be interested in an intellectual or financial partnership with the government. I provided creative direction and copywriting for the advertising launch campaign, developing two TV spots as well as pocket-sized brochures and more comprehensive 8.5” x 11 fold-outs for distribution to the public, the medical community and potential new partners.
